Captain Picard was nothing without Commander Riker; His #2. His second in command. Riker was always there to be the yin to Picard’s yang. Riker would play the good cop who could get along with others while Picard could focus on being the bad cop; the one who had to keep his distance from the crew and focus on having a “get sh*t done” mentality. Riker eased the burden of the leadership role. Continue Reading

In another week or two, it will be official and Exodus will be the most active server on all of the Freedom Isles. Inde and Exodus are currently neck and neck in terms of player activity.
Given the mass exodus to Exodus, there are alot of us who are trying to understand why. I thought I would take the time to state 3 reasons for why people are moving into town. Tongue in cheek of course.
3) Because it’s the only remaining virgin land where you can’t get killed on. Carebearing on JKH just isn’t worth it
2) Because everyone wants to live in Southern Exodus and finally get a chance to say this
1) Because Exodus kchat is great training grounds for immature flamebaiting and trolling without CA moderation
If you came from Inde or Deli, then what is your reason for moving to Exodus?
[03:29:52] <Deene> why do you always LOL ?

Well, I LOLed.
I don’t play alot of online games. Wurm is the only 2nd MMO I’ve ever given any time to. I never quite understood why some people LOL on every response back to me. Is it some sort of virtual emote trend that I’m unaware of? Am I the really weird one and they are all the normal people for the constant LOL?

Some of us forget what it’s like to be a noob in this game. Remember those first few days of constantly exploring, kiting animals, and tinkering with the functionality of new tools? Try to remember that when you recruit a noob into your village. I always try to make it a point to put them to work on a village project when they first join. I also try to be helpful and give them a few spare tools that they will need.
But I also understand they still have a desire to build their own home (even though I have a spare one for them), make their own low ql tools (even though I can crank out something better), and die a few times in the process (even though I say to avoid those scorps).
It’s part of the immersion process with a game like this. They need to immerse themselves even if it means taking the longer route to something.
I get it. So I let them do what they need to do (within reason). And when they’re ready, they’ll do their part to contribute to the village and to the Wurm community as well.
